Primoris Willbros Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

A Steamfitter-Pipefitter is involved in connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging. This work will be completed primarily outdoors and is physically demanding.


Anticipated Start Date: December 1, 2019

Duration: Ongoing Maintenance

Shift: 7/7, Compressed (Straight time for all hours worked)

Location: CNRL Horizon

Travel: Flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary

Accommodation: Camp to be provided by Client on site (MacKay primarily, however room may be available at Richardson)


Pre-access alcohol and drug (A&D) testing will be required within 10 business days of anticipated start date,


  • Ticketed Alberta Journeyman Steamfitter-Pipefitter (or equivalent, as recognized by AIT)
  • CSTS-09 (completed prior to Jan 1/19) or CSO
  • H2S Alive
  • OSSA Fall Protection


  • Comply with Primoris and Client safety regulations, as well as OH&S standards
  • Select type of pipe, size of pipe, and systems by applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints
  • Construct support hangers and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications
  • Utilize pipe being tools or machines
  • Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
  • Ensure that holes cut into pipe will not cause structural weakness
  • Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fuzed joints and hand tools
  • Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment (such as pumps or cylinders)
  • Cut pipe utilizing saws, pipe cutting machines, cutting torch, etc
  • Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
  • Working in physically demanding surroundings, with inclement weather
  • Promote a safe work environment at all times
  • Various other duties as requested by management


  • Must possess a valid Journeyman Steamfitter-Pipefitter Certificate (or equivalent as recognized by AIT)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Screening is a standard requirement for all Primoris craft positions
  • Must provide required safety tickets as listed above
